Sail Folly was started in 2017 by Captain Johnny Stevens, a USCG licensed captain with years of sailing and power vessel experience. In 3 years, Sail Folly has grown into the premier Folly Beach sailing experience. All of our captains are well acquainted with Charleston local history and the salt marsh marine environment.
We run sailing excursions on Stiletto 27 foot catamarans. With ample deck space and excellent sailing qualities, these cats are the ideal way to sail the river behind Folly Island and also up the creeks through the salt marsh itself. We see dolphin, pelicans, herons, egrets, cormorants, and more.
Trips depart from the Folly River boat landing, conveniently located at 97 Center Street, at the base of the bridge leading onto Folly Island.
